Thank You for Coming: The Reckonings Project at: The Way We Were Nightlife Exhibition

From Tuesday, September 23rd through Friday, September 26th, community members explored The Way Were: Roxbury Black Wall Street, 1900-1965, a multi-day series of research presentations, oral histories, and performances on Roxbury’s rich history. This four-day celebration of Black entrepreneurship, art, culture and history was envisioned, curated and planned by Marie Firmin, CEO & President of BlackBiz Development Group LLC and an active member of the Roxbury community. Each day focused on a different aspect of the Black experience and history.

Reckonings showcased on September 26 at the Bruce Bolling Building. A panel featured Reckonings faculty Dr. Uta Poiger from 11am-12:30pm and later presented an exhibition on nightlife and jazz from 3:30-6pm.
