Jazz Square Dedication: A Community Celebration
Jazz enthusiasts of different generations gathered on September 27 and 28 to celebrate the rich legacy of the jazz clubs and the Beantown Jazz Festival at the intersection of Massachusetts Avenue and Columbus Avenue, designated as Jazz Square, and the influence of jazz on culture and neighborhoods in Boston.
At the Jazz Square Celebration, our team encouraged community members to examine their relationships with jazz. Participants responded on sticky notes to the following prompts: “We celebrate Jazz because…” and “Jazz Square matters because…” You can view some of their responses in this Instagram post.
